Halloween 2015 - Soaring Eagles
by John Hood

The transformation of Little Eaglets Friday night was bruising and ghoulish, a peek-a-boo screamers warranting delights, the sweetness of tummy tamers. Many super heroes/heroines spooked with feverish desire for goodies awaiting trick-a-treating, a demanding effort of each with gleaming eyes and bones to pick. The night filled with excitement and fashioning of customs for bragging rights and prizes to garnish. They all were prize winners and hopefully the tummies withstand the onslaught of Halloween sweets collected. They were Boo-tiful and spooktacular! Mummy please don't eat my candy!

Frankenstein and The Wolfman applauded the young hearts and mind, in due respect to the many powers assemblage in a tiny village of Old Town San Diego near where the Historic Whaley House presumed to possess the energies of its past.

The unity of SDUSD Title VI Indian Education, the Soaring Eagles and San Diego American Indian Clinic provided entertainment, food and Halloween goodies. Special thanks to Mr. Richard Orvedal for the sound system piercing the ears, good sound engineer. We did miss our Spiritual leader Mr. Randy Edmonds and his wife Bonnie, they ran-away from the little monsters but wished special blessings for the children and parents. The turn-out was festive and the optimism for future gatherings for the Eagles good as a warm day in spring.
