The Pow wow Season Begins with Soaring Eagle Practice

This season our workshop experiences a wide range of weather but it's always a good time to gather and practice our traditional tribal ways. It gives us symbolic encouragement to our new families and newest Soaring Eagle dancers. This month of May is the local start of the pow wow season. We hope you enjoy the images of our hope and future Soaring Eagle dancers from the May 4th SE Dance workshop at the SDUSD Ballard center.

We all were proud and inspired by our young Soaring Eagle Dancers this week. They all show their spirit by dancing at pow wows and are enthusiastic about the two day pow wow this weekend in Balboa Park.

At each gathering we try and have something fresh for all our dancers. Here's an example of that next level of dancing. Thanks to all our mentors, singers and parents for their continued support. Aho

In just a few weeks Soaring Eagles Workshops will move to Pepper Grove for the summer. We always look forward to the long afternoons of summer and dancing outdoors. Check your e-mail for updates as we get closer.

A primary challenge for the Soaring Eagles is our children. Only Mothers can bring forth life. They nurture our youth and complete us as human beings. We all wish to live in a world of harmony and in balance. The continuity of our tribal cultures is bound up in the wisdom lessons of traditional life. This harmony is a message that we find in all the Americas, regardless of political boundaries. Remembering all our Mothers
