Summer Gathering .... Indian Summer

We all continue to enjoy these Indian Summer days. Elders share amongst each other that they have felt fall in the air and know for sure the season has changed. Shorts and flip flops keep the memory of summer alive for the younger ones. The evening started much like birds coming to roost and by the time of the blessing and 'Elders first' this workshop was going to be a good one. We welcomed several new families as well. Thanks to John Hood for the blessing and photos.
Soaring Eagles has always been about our Indian children and families. It's good to see parents supporting the children in the circle and being a part of these traditions themselves. Seeing the young dancers brings back memories of when we all were young and reminds us that they too will remember how it was at Soaring Eagles and learning these traditions. It feels good to know the traditions are being carried on.

Our young men learned the finer elements of the Sneak-Up, one of our oldest traditional dances. Very proud of them.

Again, we finished with a Round Dance so for sure the new families danced in the circle with the Soaring Eagles.
