Soaring Eagles Dance Under a Winter Moon

The thinnest slice of crescent moon greeted our Soaring Eagle families to this first Workshop of the New Year. This first gathering after the Holidays is an opportunity for reflective thought. We're filled with joy and hope as we watch all our young dancers continuing to grow and participate in these tribal traditions. After a welcoming and blessing by Chuck we shared a full table of choices. Albondigas, chicken wings, pizza, salads, veggies, fruit and and. Full bowls and plates and bellies. Thanks to all who brought the pot-luck dishes to share.

Our singers brought out some great songs for practicing many of our specialty songs. Double beat, sneak-up, chicken dance, Crow hop, but they all came to dance and it was great to start off the New Year this way!

 

Some reminders of up coming events, the Soaring Eagles are participating in the MLK, Jr Parade. If interested please contact Carla for details. The first Sat in Feb, Feb. 2, is the Cuyamaca Pow wow @ Cuyamaca College. The next Workshop is Jan 30. We finished up with a Round Dance and hoped to see each other at the next 'doin's'.
