Soaring Eagles Workshop & Community Night Finish Out February This
February 24, 2016, @ 6:00 in the evening Soaring Eagle workshop is sharing with
the American Indian Clinic for the community night presentations. Tonight's topic
was the Traditional community. The brainstorm session was well received with great
participation. Family, traditions, spirituality, self-determination were just
a few of the elements that make up our Traditional community in the urban setting.
Then crayons and paper gave each of us a chance to express what represents community
and many were shared with the group. Thanks to all for participating and to Perse
for leading the activity.
Our Elder Randy Edmonds delivered the blessing for the food and asked for prayers for those whose relatives had passed on and for those facing family or personal challenges in this winter season. Our meal was a hearty beef stew with salads and rolls to complement. Fresh fruit, melons and several kinds of chips and drinks rounded out the table. Potluck items to share are always appreciated. Aho.
The Soaring Eagle program is all about the children. This quality and dedication is evident in the initiative, joy, pride of tribal identity and participation from beginning to end of the parents and children that are the Soaring Eagles.
