Dampness Greets Soaring Eagles Children Workshop

By Roy Cook

The workshop experienced a welcome rain for our region and a symbolic encouragement to our newest Soaring Eagle dancers. This is the last rumble from the March ‘lion’. Now we look to a colorful seasonal beauty for April.

Now that we are in a spring venue perhaps we will see you at a future 2014 Soaring Eagle dance workshop: April 23, 30 May 7, 14, 2014. Local pow wows are shuffling into place over the next five months. Control click on blue text and see: http://americanindiansource.com/kcalendar.html

A primary challenge for the Soaring Eagles is our children. Only Mothers can bring forth life. They nurture our youth and complete us as human beings. We all wish to live in a world of harmony and in balance. The continuity of our tribal cultures is bound up in the wisdom lessons of traditional life. This harmony is a message that we find in all the Americas, regardless of political boundaries.

The Ballard Center location is in Old Town: San Diego Unified School District, SDUSD, and under the auspices of the Title 7 Indian Education parent committee at Ballard Parent Center 2375 Congress St. San Diego, CA 92110.
