Busy Times For Soaring Eagles Our
Soaring Eagle dancers had a very busy week. This was the first workshop
of the month and and the following day some of our dancers received a
'standing ovation' for their presentation at the ACA National Conference
at the Town and Country Resort. We could also include Valentines Day and
many schools had off for President's Day. The Workshop provides some stability
in these busy times and keeps us all connected to our heritage and community.
All the dancers continue to receive valuable individual instruction in the various dance categories and refine their techniques. Taylor Begay was announced last time as our newest instructor, we're excited to have her. Each week our young singers are really getting comfortable being at the drum and take the opportunity to learn these traditional roles seriously.
Our
Elder John Hood(Dine) was able to join us and had these comments to share
with us along with some great pictures. It makes us feel good in our hearts to be part of Soaring Eagles and have our dancers represent themselves and their traditions to the greater community. Thanks again to all who helped make that possible and we hope to see you at the next Soaring Eagles Workshop.
